Homeopathy can be a huge support for our mama bears.

For some mama bears mothering comes instinctively and naturally.

I have recently had the pleasure of watching a mama bear and her new born kittens. She is such a proud mama. The pride and love in her eyes is beautiful, I don't think I have ever seen anything so beautiful.

She is also fiercely protective of her babies and rightly so. I respect her and her babies space and will only do the bare necessities as she has it under control.   My job is to watch her and her babies progress and ensure that everything goes smoothly. I will only step in if needed but this mama bear definitely has it under control!

For some mama bears, mothering does not come so easily.  For instance some mama bears may not have enough milk flow. This is where homeopathy can be instrumental.

Sometimes the mother’s milk-flow doesn't happen right away, or she may not be able to provide enough milk for her babies.

Below are some homeopathic remedies that may be helpful in this situation:

Calc carb - this remedy tends to fit those mothers who are on the larger/heavy side. Even though their breasts are very swollen they have little milk.

Calc phos - these mama bears tend to be on the thinner more malnourished side even though they are getting enough to eat.

Lac caninum - in this instance the milk flow starts out fine but decreases very quickly.

Pulsatilla - this remedy is a very good one for those mothers who are more interested in getting attention than looking after their babies. More often than not their milk flow is minimal. She also finds nursing painful, and will quite often cry out when the kittens try to feed.

Although there are many more remedies that can help support milk flow, the above remedies are the ones that are more common.
